Managing director

Owner of Core Football Coaching is professional footballer Johnny Goddard. Johnny has played for various clubs including Swindon Town, Stevenage and Woking. Having joined Reading FC aged 8, he went onto become a professional there before being released at 19. He made his name at Woking FC, becoming an England C international before being bought by Swindon in 2016. John is very passionate about helping young players develop alongside his professional career, and works closely with all our coaches to make sure we create the best coaching environment possible.

Mick Lewin

Academy Manager

We are extremely lucky to have someone of Mick's experience and calibre on our Coaching Staff, being Academy Managing here at Core Football Coaching Mick's main focus is to make sure all Academy players are maximising both their enjoyment and development with us. Mick helps oversee all the coaching Syllabus and is also an integral part of all our school programmes which we run.
He is an A License Coach and FA Tutor so has a wealth of knowledge, and has worked for clubs such at Oxford Utd, Brentford and Wycombe.

Matt dean

LEad coach

Deano is another very important member of our coaching team, helping our players in our School Programmes & Academies. Now a full time member of our staff he has taken on more responsibility to grow what we do and improve standards.  He is a fully qualified Level 2 coach who puts together game related and challenging sessions for all our players, whilst always being approachable and helpful. 'Deano' has ambitions to get his UEFA B License in the near future to help progress his coaching.

Nick arnold

Nick is the second professional player we have working alongside our players. Also coming through the Academy at Reading FC, Nick played 30 games in League 2 for Wycombe, and now plays for Aldershot Town FC. Incredibly earlier this year Nick became the second of our coaches to become an England International, playing against Estonia for England C. Nick coaches at both Academy venues and shows great empathy towards players as they look to develop their game with his sessions always being well structured and challenging

Liam skidmore

'Skidders' is a big character for us and helps develop the players in our Reading Academy as well as our Weekend Sessions. Liam is perfect for our Academy players as he sets high standards and tests players to improve during every session. 
Liam is also a qualified teacher so is very experienced in terms of relating to young players and creating a learning environment.

Lewis Robson

'Doddsy' is Lead Coach of our U6/7 Academy players He has been a part of the staff since day 1 here at Core, previously running our school programmes and Soccer Camps. Nowadays Doddsy focuses on the youngest of our groups giving them enjoyable sessions to work on their technical skills and ball comfort. Also playing at a good level Doddsy used to play in America as he studied in Iowa for 2 years.

ADAM SuTHERLAND

Andrew is currently coaching within our School Programmes and is studying a Foundation Degree in Sports Coaching alongside this. He is a Level 1 coach who is working towards his FA Level 2 later this year. His sessions are always enjoyable for the children, offering them a lot of support and guidance in the process. 

Harry is an aspiring professional player at Aldershot Town FC. He is a technically very good central defender, who is helping younger players by coaching them alongside his playing career. Harry is currently doing his Level 2 andis working in our School Programmes helping children of various ages and abilities.

Adam works in our School Programmes and Development Sessions whilst working towards his Degree of Physical & Sport Education at St. Mary's University.
A bubbly character Adam gets on well with all children whilst challenging them in his sessions. He is experienced working with a variety of different ages, and formally lead Futsal sessions at Futsal24 meaning he plays a Lead Role in improving the Futsal Sessions we currently run.
